A Big Sigh of Relief!

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Ahh... the craziness of the end of January/Early February is over... everything is shipped (or ready to be shipped), I've made some major wedding progress - dress, hall rented, bridesmaids dresses, etc - and am looking forward to life being a little more... stable!

I got quite a bit done over my two days off - ordered the last of the bridesmaids dresses, which look like this:

I sewed myself a big plaid shirt, with a yummy placket running down the front which I was very excited about sewing, as I haven't sewn a placket since college. I finished the item for my Give Away, completed an alteration, shipped orders, and made two delicious, homemade dinners. I am hoping that this weekend Dan and I can get out and register for gifts for our wedding. We keep putting it off because we need to drive to the next largest town, as there are no large department stores where we live... Yep, it's that small!

I completely forgot that Monday is Valentines Day (I'm suspecting Dan did too)... I think we will stay in (which is no surprise) and maybe do a chocolage fondu and continue our Oscar Movie Marathon. Unfortunatly we are at The Godfather II which is not so romantic... Does anyone else have plans for Valentines Day?

  1. I love that bridesmaid dress! I know all brides say this, but that one you could actually wear again. It would work for a cocktail party or holiday party or wedding or anything, really!

We're going to a wedding on Valentine's Day. Might be kind of cheesy, might be kind of romantic. Either way, a great excuse to wear a hot pink dress.

You should register online! That's what my husband and I did. We went to Target first, and it was totally overwhelming and the employees were super unhelpful, so I deleted it and we registered at Crate & Barrel online. It was really easy and quick and saved us a ton of stress.

  2. I love it too! almost want one for myself. I think it would be cute with some heels or booties, leggings, and a little jacket- perfect for a fancy night out! I have beautiful bridesmaids, and they all look stunning in it :)

Oooh.. I didn't know I could register on line. Crate & Barrel is a great Idea! I am going to check it out. Thanks for your ideas! :D

  3. My cousin registered at REI, you can register everywhere now!

My V Day plan is meeting a friend for cupcakes :) We're both single and happy to have something fun planned.

  4. My gosh, you have been busy! Can we please see your shirt, it sounds lovely!!! Also, Amy above is right in saying that your bridesmaids will be able to wear that dress again. Really good choice!

No plans for V-day yet, as it's so close to my Bday which was on the 9th. Probably staying in and catching up on some Mad Men though ;o)
