People love the craft, the lingerie, but people also love the girl behind it. If you really love something you've made your audience will love it because they love that you love it. Make sense? There are a lot of sewing blogs out there with a variety of skill levels but the ones I follow and read often are ones written by people I'd probably want to be friends with in real life. :)dixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17270266160105135365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2552712473039374560.post-12897051295369574752012-12-02T10:39:05.785-05:002012-12-02T10:39:05.785-05:00I wonder if there's something in the air - I&#...I wonder if there's something in the air - I've been struggling with this issue over the past couple of days too (it has a tendency to pop up every now and then, when I get a mean-spirited blog comment). I hate to admit it but sometimes I feel like quitting blogging altogether because nasty comments can get me down so. I know it's stupid, particularly as the vast majority of commenters are so lovely. Like you, I'm also a people pleaser, but I guess we have to accept that there will always be people who don't like what we do. I honestly can't imagine anyone disliking your work though - it is seriously beautiful and brings so much joy to the world! xTillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05346200271671855136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2552712473039374560.post-58459374241481171982012-12-01T16:21:15.193-05:002012-12-01T16:21:15.193-05:00Speaking of perfectionism, look how beautifully or...Speaking of perfectionism, look how beautifully organised your living room is! And I love how your cat sits in the chair like a person =] I've also noticed in my own sewing projects that I get the best responses to things that I have done purely for my own interest or that stem from my own thoughts, rather than trying to create what someone else might like. I suppose the logic behind it is, we know ourselves better than we can know anyone else and trying to please others is never going to be as successful as trying to please ourselves. I find that if I create something that I love, the positive feedback follows very organically, like a nice bonus. But you are right, at the end of the day you have to do things for yourself. I have noticed that when you put everything you've got into something that you love and believe in people notice it and respond to that.
Everything seems to be perfect and somewhat distorted through the internet's viewfinder so I appreciate seeing real people who make mistakes and fail some times, because it shows that they get up, dust themselves off and keep going - and that is much more inspiring than a seemingly flawless entry or photograph online.

Your pets are so adorable! Congratulations on the new camera, have fun with it!antohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02589575125136031530noreply@blogger.com
