Blog Love!

Friday, August 3, 2012

This week was a brutal one for me.  All week I've felt like my patience had been tested, I was tired, dragging myself to work each day, feeling like just nothing was going right.  We all have those weeks, right?  Then, to my surprise, I found my Betty Pattern had been featured on one of my sewing idol's blogs - Gertie's Blog for Better Sewing! Totally turned my sour mood right around.  In the last couple of months, I have had some great feedback from the Lingerie Addict, and now Gertie.  I am feeling even more confident and excited about Ohhh Lulu.  A Big, big, big "Thank you!"

Remember the lovely padded sets I made a few weeks back? Well, I was so please to see the recipient wrote this amazing post on Style & Then Some.  Sophie was such a doll to work with.  Feedback like this quite literally brings a tear to my eye.  After years of working hard and doing jobs I didn't really want to do (and sometimes down right hated), it is so rewarding to be able to do something that I love, and to make something that other people cherish.

Thanks everyone! It has been a great week! I am excited to have a 4 day weekend this weekend, and a mini vacation coming up.  I'll be sticking around the house, sewing, gardening, dog-sitting, and of course, blogging <3 p="p">

  2. I was so excited for you when I saw Gertie's blog yesterday! Congrats on all of the great 'press' - it is well deserved, and I'm sure satisfying after years of very hard work.
Enjoy your nice long weekend and have great little vacation!

  3. Sarah, it was my pleasure to feature you! (I did it again today, too.) I love what you're doing. The type of pattern you make is so sorely needed in the sewing world. Anything I can do to help more, you just let me know!

  5. Hi Sarah, I saw it too yesterday, and was very touched and exited for you. You have been working hard and it finally pays of. I laughed when I read Gertie's post, cause I made the knickers too a while ago and was a bit shy about how big they looked laying flat (to shy to take a picture and post it) Same thoughts about sharing my underwear online, hehe. But I am glad Gertie did, and we can all fell free to discuss how great the bum looks in this pattern of yours.
I made a bathing suit version of them a few days ago, and I will post about it shortly.

    1. They do look kind of scary big in the beginning! I think we are all used to teeny-tiny undies from Victoria Secret and La Senza! :)

  6. Just found your blog via Gertie's.... Just spent the past hour reading your old posts. Between you and Gertie, I now have the strongest desire for new knickers. Wonder if i could convert one of the cute bras into a maternity bra? So over wearing ugly black bulky things. Any hints?
