Yesterday I bought a serger; a Pfaff Hobbylock. I am in love! It is easy to thread, easy to adjust, and overlocks beautifully. I don't know how I lived without one. I also purchased a shirring foot for my sewing machine, another item which I'm not sure how I lived with out. It gathers, while sewing the ruffle onto the garment at the same time. No one else seems to understand how completely awesome that is!
Yesterday I finished up orders and went to a Job Interview.
Today I sewed two new items, and found out that I got the Job! Public Relations! I am super excited to begin a 9-5... but don't worry, I still still have time for Ohhh Lulu. I will be working the same amount of hours, in a much more stimulating field.
I was also interviewed for a fantastic blog. I would love you to go over and read the interview at Petal+Handmade=Love. Brianne makes some utterly adorable kids clothes and is taking on interviewing other handmade sellers. Definitely one to keep an eye on!
Congratulations on the new job!!! I'm in PR too and it's definitely challenging and different every day...just make sure you carry on with Ohhh Lulu please ;o)
ReplyDeleteI loved your interview at Petal+Handmade=Love, they were really insightful questions I thought.
I've also been wanting to buy so many of your things, so this pay day I'm going to treat myself...I'm thinking the sweet as sugar bloomers with the matching camisole...how exciting!!!
Hi Marie! Send me an esty convo before you do and I will send you a coupon code! I will also have to check on stock for the camisole (though I have one ready made in a medium) - this has been a very popular fabric!
ReplyDeleteBrianne at Petal+Handmade=Love was so nice! I've got her blog bookmarked and am excited to read her next interview. Was a great opportunity!
I'm excited about my new job, and it kind of ties into my lingerie line as well which is great. Definitely will be good experience and definitely a change from the mechanics shop!
Ooh, thank you Sarah! I'll definitely convo you before I buy anything. I can understand why the fabric is so popular it's gorgeous. I'll try and order soon, but if I miss out on that, there's plenty of other cute stuff I have my eye on ;o)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the job and the serger!
ReplyDeleteI found your Etsy shop today and absolutely love your lingerie. As a seamstress myself, I know exactly what you mean about the new ruffler foot! Isn't it cool? :) Going over to read your interview, and congrats on the new job!
